What is normal for floor heating pressure?

The pressure testing of a floor heating system is a critical component of the installation process, especially once the setup is complete. This test ensures that the system operates properly by checking for leaks or other issues like construction errors. If the pressure test fails, it signals potential problems such as water leaks or improper installation. In such cases, the construction team needs to reassess and correct the issue. First, use a water pump to fill the floor heating system with water and gradually increase the pressure to 0.6 MPa or 1.5 times the system's operational pressure. Throughout this process, keep an eye out for any unusual behavior or signs of trouble. After stabilizing the pressure for an hour without detecting leaks, continue observing for another 15 minutes. If the pressure drops by less than 0.05 MPa during this time, the test passes. Following this, slowly increase the pressure for the initial heating cycle while keeping the water temperature between 25-30°C for approximately 20 hours. Within 24 hours, the water temperature should reach its normal operating range. In winter, take extra precautions to avoid freezing during pressure tests. Pay close attention to the pressure difference, as it’s a crucial indicator of performance. A higher pressure difference typically means quicker circulation and consistent heat delivery. When injecting water during the pressure test, ensure the process is done slowly. Once the system is full, meticulously inspect all loops to guarantee proper sealing and avoid misleading results. After completing the pressure test, relieve the system of water and pressure. It’s also important to document and archive the corresponding pressure records for future reference. This documentation will serve as a valuable resource for troubleshooting and maintaining the system down the line.
