This highlights a growing reliance on imported high-precision instruments, despite the country's own advancements in manufacturing. While traditional hand tools like wrenches and pliers remain popular, the steady growth in exports of power tools, garden equipment, and kits suggests that consumer demand remains strong, even amid global economic challenges. These products are especially favored in DIY markets across Europe and the U.S. However, there are concerns about the industry’s reliance on volume rather than value. Many companies still depend on exporting large quantities without a proportional increase in profit margins. Additionally, competition from Indian and Taiwanese tool manufacturers is intensifying, posing new challenges. Despite these issues, Zhou Jihua remains optimistic. He believes the Chinese tool industry is on a healthy and sustainable growth path. With continuous improvements in quality and market share, China is reshaping the global tool manufacturing landscape. As long as the industry maintains its current momentum and avoids rushed expansion, it is well on its way to becoming a true leader in the global tool-making arena.
