How to properly install the gas detector

The installation site for the gas detector must comply with the requirements outlined in Article 3.2.15 of this regulation. When mounting the flammable gas alarm controller on a wall, the bottom edge should be positioned between 1.3 and 1.5 meters above the ground. The side closest to the door hinge should not be more than 0.5 meters from the wall, and there should be at least 1.2 meters of clear space for operation. If installed on the floor, the bottom edge should be raised 0.1 to 0.2 meters above the ground level. The controller must be securely fastened and installed without any tilt. If mounted on a lightweight wall, additional reinforcement measures must be implemented to ensure stability.

Gas Detector Installation Requirements

1. The detector should only be installed when it is about to be commissioned. It should be stored properly before commissioning and protected from dust, moisture, and corrosion.

2. The detector must be firmly mounted and connected using reliable crimping or soldering techniques. If soldering is used, non-corrosive flux should be employed to avoid damaging the wiring.

3. The connection wires of the detector should have a minimum length of 150mm and should be clearly labeled at their ends for easy identification.

4. All threading holes should be sealed, and the detectors should be safeguarded against physical damage after installation.

Cable or Wire Requirements for the Controller

1. The wiring should be neatly arranged, avoiding crossings, and firmly secured in place.

2. The ends of cable cores and assigned conductors must be clearly marked with numbers that match the system diagrams. The markings should be legible and resistant to fading over time.

3. Each terminal on the terminal board should not have more than two connections. Cable cores and conductors should have a minimum of 200mm of extra length for future adjustments or maintenance.

4. Wires should be bundled together for better organization. After passing through conduits or trunking, all openings should be sealed to prevent dust or moisture ingress.

Installation of Manual Alarm Activation Device

When mounted on a wall, the bottom edge of the manual alarm trigger device should be between 1.3 and 1.5 meters above the floor. It must be securely fixed and not tilted. The connection lead should have a minimum of 150mm of slack, and the end should be clearly marked for identification.

System Grounding Installation

1. Any AC/DC power supply equipment with a voltage exceeding 36V within the system must be grounded. The grounding wire should be connected to the PE (protective earth) conductor.

2. Once the grounding system is completed, the grounding resistance should be measured and recorded. The resistance value should be less than 4 ohms to ensure proper functionality and safety.

Installation of Supporting Equipment

1. Input and output control modules should be installed no more than 20 meters away from the signal source or linked equipment. If metal hoses are used to protect the wiring, they should be fixed with tube clamps at intervals not exceeding 0.5 meters.

2. Manual control devices for valves, fans, and similar equipment should be installed following the same guidelines as the manual alarm activation device. Sound and light alarm devices should be placed approximately 3 meters above the ground, in an open area free from obstructions.
