Hainan Province is set to launch the "Safety Production Month" campaign from June 1st to June 30th, 2014, focusing on safety inspections in the construction industry and town gas systems. In the coming weeks, Hainan will also conduct quality and safety inspections for affordable housing projects. These inspections will include random checks on deep foundation pits, high-support formworks, scaffolding, and lifting equipment, as well as the management of potential safety hazards. In coordination with 28 other inspections, fire safety at construction sites will be a key focus, particularly the implementation of fire safety responsibilities and the condition of fire-fighting equipment. Additionally, regulatory authorities will enhance public awareness campaigns, increase inspection frequency, and strengthen supervision during the flood season. Comprehensive, multi-level, and wide-ranging typhoon and pre-flood inspections will be organized to ensure preparedness.
As part of the "Safety Production Month" activities, a publicity and consultation day will take place on June 16th. City and county construction departments will establish gas safety consultation booths in areas with high population movement. They will display informational panels, broadcast safety knowledge, and share materials about gas safety and real-life accident cases. These efforts will extend into community activities, including gas safety inspections and emergency response drills for gas-related accidents.
