US PV double-reaction effect gradually shows that solar energy companies plan to set up factories overseas

It is reported that in order to avoid the adverse effects of US anti-dumping tariffs, a Taiwanese crystalline silicon solar cell manufacturer plans to move its production line with an annual production capacity of 500MWp in Taiwan to Thailand. However, the person has not disclosed the specific company.

Sources pointed out that the manufacturer is expected to benefit from the investment incentives introduced by the Thai government. After relocating to the Thai market, the plant's annual production capacity is likely to increase to 1GWp.

Currently, only two solar cell manufacturers in Taiwan, Solartech Energy and Tainergy Tech, have been confirmed to plan to set up factories overseas, the source said.

Rongsheng Technology Energy will form a strategic alliance with Malaysia's Tek Seng Holdings Bhd to jointly invest 100 million Malaysian Ringgit ($31.3 million) to set up two solar cell production lines at TS Solartech Sdn Bhd's existing site.

Taiji Energy plans to cooperate with Taiwanese equipment manufacturer Kenmec Mechanical Engineering's Vietnamese subsidiary to jointly set up a solar cell factory in Vietnam for US$10.8 million.
