New two-dimensional material of molybdenum oxide comes out

The Moscow State Institute of Iron and Steel and the National Research Technology University cooperated with the University of Nebraska-Lincoln to carry out two-dimensional material synthesis and performance studies, and published work on molybdenum oxide (MoO2) in the journal of nanotechnology science Results.
Two-dimensional materials are characterized by their very small thickness (usually less than 1 nanometer), so they can be used to create layered heterostructures used in modern electronic devices, such as transistors, sensors, solar cells, and light-emitting diodes. The creation and research of two-dimensional materials is one of the most promising directions in modern materials science.
Dmitry Muratov, a researcher at the National Research Technical University of Moscow State Iron and Steel Institute, said that they obtained the two-dimensional material molybdenum oxide from the gas phase by chemical deposition, and then conducted a comprehensive study using analytical methods, and Will further study how to use these results. He said that the new materials can be used to create heterostructures and nano-devices, such as transistors, sensors, photodetectors and so on.
It is reported that the functional nanosystems and high-temperature materials department of the university have developed transition metal chalcogenides for solar cells, light-emitting diodes and sensors, and are studying graphene oxide as a coating to improve the corrosion resistance of various steels.
