Classification of manganese plates

Generally speaking, the manganese plate is a low-alloy high-strength structural steel, 16Mn (Q345) or 16Mn (Q345). The weldability of this material can be welded by various methods.

Manganese plate Medium plate generally refers to a steel plate having a plate thickness ranging from 4 mm to 60 mm.

16Mn is an old brand and the current grade is Q345.

There are five grades of Q345, A, B, C, D, and E.

16Mn (I, II, III) refers to 1, 2, 3 forgings, respectively.

16MnR is the main material of general pressure vessels, and R refers to steel for containers, that is, steel plate materials for pressure vessels.

D in 16MnD is a low temperature steel.

The welding characteristics of 16MnR materials generally do not require preheating or slow cooling. However, when the thickness is greater than 30, preheating is required to be about 100-150 degrees. Generally, J507 can be used for welding. If the toughness is better, J507RH can also be recommended.

J507 is the electrode

J507RH and J507 have the same mechanical properties, but the composition of the coating is different. J507RH is an ultra-low hydrogen electrode, low alloy and high toughness.
