The selection of appropriate grades depends on the required mechanical properties, chemical composition, and application conditions. 1. Steel is typically delivered in hot-rolled condition.
2. Quenching and tempering processes vary by grade:
- For 20MnVK: Round steel is quenched at 880±20°C and tempered at 300±30°C. Flat steel is quenched at 880–900°C and tempered at 450±30°C.
- For 24Mn2K: Oil quenched at 850±20°C and tempered at 400–420°C.
3. The tensile strength, yield point, and elongation of 30Mn2K in hot-rolled condition must be specified in the quality certificate.
4. This type of steel is suitable for the manufacture of coal mine conveyors and support systems.
