**The Role and Usage of a Key Chemical in Global Markets** This chemical is widely used as a solvent, with a significant proportion in various industries. In China, its usage as a solvent far exceeds the global average, making it one of the most important applications. It is commonly used in coatings, acetate fibers, adhesives, pharmaceuticals, smokeless gunpowder, and cellophane. Additionally, it serves as an intermediate in the production of epoxy resins, polycarbonates, acrylic materials, pharmaceuticals, and pesticides. Globally, about 34.5% of its total consumption is attributed to direct use as a solvent, while approximately 60.7% is used as a chemical intermediate—such as bisphenol A (BPA), methyl isobutyl ketone (MIBK), and other derivatives. This growth will require a large amount of high-efficiency, low-toxicity rubber antioxidants. The internationally recognized antioxidant, 4020, is expected to see rising demand in the coming years. Experts suggest that the future demand for BPA and MIBK will remain strong, especially on the upstream side. From 2013 to 2018, the demand for intermediates in the chemical industry grew at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 15%. Bisphenol A, in particular, became a major driver of ** consumption, with a CAGR of around 20% during that period. Meanwhile, ACH (another derivative) may experience slower growth due to technological changes and the impact of traditional production methods, potentially dropping below 10% in the coming years.
