Transmission protection measures

The transmission mechanisms commonly used in various machine tools include: gear transmission mechanism, belt transmission mechanism, screw thread transmission mechanism and coupling. All of these institutions are rotating bodies that move at a high speed. A portion of the human body that is twisted into it will cause different degrees of injury. Therefore, it is necessary to install a protective device on the dangerous part of the transmission mechanism to ensure personal safety.

1. Gear mesh transmission protection. In the transmission of the gear system, any of the straight, helical, bevel and worm gear drives is dangerous. Therefore, the vast majority of gear transmissions use fully enclosed guards, such as the spindle gearboxes and feed gearboxes of various machine tools. However, there are always a few gears exposed outside the machine. This will also cause injury. Therefore, all gears exposed outside the machine should be equipped with guards. The protective cover is mostly welded with iron plates. The shape of the protective cover should be consistent with the shape of the transmission device. The installation should be solid and secure. The shape is sleek and beautiful without any sharp corners. It is convenient to switch, repair and maintenance.

2. Belt drive. Smooth belt transmission, low noise, and simple structure prevent overload, so it is widely used in machine drives. However, due to the high-speed rotation of the belt, it is easy to generate friction and generate electricity and discharge, so it is not suitable for use in places prone to flammability and explosion. The main danger of the belt drive lies in the place where the belt enters the belt pulley and the joint of the flat belt. Therefore, the belt drive mechanism used in the general machine must be equipped with a belt guard. The wide, high-speed belt with a distance of 2m above the ground should also be added. Protective measures. General belt protective cover is made of thin iron plate, and the mounting card must be firm to prevent vibration from falling off. When using a belt, take care that the connector is firmly seated and tightly closed to prevent disconnection.
3. Coupling device protection. The blue dials, keys, pins, and connection bolts that rotate at high speed and protrude from the shaft are all dangerous factors. Twisted clothes often cause harm to people. For this purpose, use countersunk screws, safety couplings without protruding parts, and cylindrical protective covers to ensure safe transmission.
