Google’s self-driving car is about to be officially produced?
Although Google CEO Larry Page said at the 2011 Q2 earnings conference that they did not put their money in self-driving cars, this may not be the case. It is said that Google has a team of 50 people who are in charge of the auto-driving car business. They are already talking about technical cooperation with mainstream car manufacturers and producing real cars.
In contrast, when the first Android phone was released in 2008, the Android team only had a total of 100 people. It is said that currently self-driving cars are advancing in three directions:
— Designing and producing a truly self-driving car is still in its early stages.
-business model. Including how to integrate with other Google businesses (future scientist Paul Saffo suggested that customers who buy self-driving cars can help Google shoot Street View).
- Public strategy. Including how to cooperate with local and state governments to obtain permission for self-driving cars. At present, only Nevada allows self-driving cars on the road. It is said that Google is currently testing cars in the Mojave Desert in Nevada and California.
