Chile's pesticide imports increased by 20%

According to the data released by the Chilean Ministry of Agriculture, Sinochem New Online News showed that in the first half of this year, Chile’s pesticide import and export trade grew significantly. Imports amounted to 108.2 million U.S. dollars, an increase of 19.7%. The export volume soared 64% to 37.2 million US dollars. Among them, the import of fungicides was relatively large, an increase of nearly one-third, reaching 22.7 million U.S.; herbicides increased by 1/4, and the import volume reached 31.5 million U.S.; sales of pesticides increased, but sales were unchanged from last year. 18.8 million US dollars. Imports of pesticides increased by 11.7% to about 19,000 tons. The growth of fungicides was the largest, exceeding 1,500 tons, which was an increase of nearly 50%. Herbicide sales increased by 12%, pesticides increased by about 8%, and other pesticides increased by 5%, about 9,000 tons.

Driven by the bactericide, the total export volume nearly doubled to US$27 million. Exports of pesticides increased by more than 50% to $7.5 million, while herbicides decreased by 40% to only $1.3 million. Other pesticides fell by nearly 8%. Total exports increased by 55.6% to 8,786 tons. Exports of fungicides increased by more than 60%, exceeded 7,800 tons, exports of pesticides increased by nearly 11%, herbicide exports fell by more than 5%, and growth rates of other pesticides were around 5%.
